Classroom Talk
A Free School Resource
African Schooltime

This session is somewhat different to most others as it explores pupils' routine day in the U.K. as a starting point.

We first look at a normal school day at home by means of a quiz The answers are then explored fully as the session progresses with comparisons to how some children in remote areas manage their own school day.

This session uses many video clips, photos and stories from my own time spent in a Maasai school in Tanzania.

There are Maasai items of clothing and jewellery for the children to handle.

This presentation could be used to support a variety of topics from local environments to other world habitats, to understanding how people manage with different or less infrastructure in their lives.
How can the children participate?

take part in quiz
dress as a Maasai

handle jewellery

listen to classroom singing
